The 4th ATHENS VIDEO DANCE PROJECT in collaboration with the Theatre of Athens Fine Art School presents short videodance projects of different genders, dance films and documentaries by renowned artists such as Jiri Kylian, Mary Wigman, Jan Fabre, Nacho Duato, Mathilde Monnier, Samuel Lefeuvre,Akram Khan from Greece, France, Germany, New Zealand, Great Britain, USA, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Buenos Aires, Finland and the Netherlands. Alongside, AVDP2014 festival will provide a place for JAM, performances (STRIKES & PROMENADE) and installations, whose main objective is to develop an artistic dialogue between dance and different art forms. Also, for the first time it opens its doors to the first steps of young artists (KICK-STARTERS) & students (DUCK-STEPS) -also kindly sponsored by the Greek State School of Dance- by presenting their works in the context of the training program, while a videodance workshop will be provided to the students of Athens Fine Art School (15 & 16/2). Team Progressive within transnational partnerships with other international videodance festivals will hosts for each day a videodance project from the 2013 edition of Finnish festival LOIKKA, while the AVDP on TouR program will present some of the AVDP2013 videodance projects in Helsinki (3-6 April).

Waveomatics is basically a group Breakin, which was created in early 2013 in order to pay tribute to the Greek dancer and teacher of them Nick Byrako (Waveomatic), who passed away on Christmas, 2012 . The team consists of experienced dancers and autonomous (Bboys and Poppers), who came together for this common purpose and since then they are together like a family. Their first appearance was in May 2013 in Thessaloniki Boty Balkans ( Balkan competition Breakin), where they were awarded as the best show and qualified as the best team to represent Greece at the World BOTY, that took place in Braunschweig , Germany in October of 2013 .

Closing Time is a dance theatre solo about a summer day – and evening – that don't quite go as planned. The hard-suffering, hard-partying main character is the archetypal Finnish guy, desperately trying to maintain his dignity and optimism while navigating a haze of alcohol and failed romantic escapades. With its laconic humour and distinctly Finnish sensibility, the work is a tragicomic but all too real slice of nightlife under the northern stars. 17.30 > documentary| Bodies of Resilience- Direction: Jill Woodward/ Choreography: Despina Stamos /Greece (07.41) In the short documentary bodies of resilience, a diverse group of asylum seekers in Greece join with local and New York artists for a performance project. The participants improvise duets and group dances amidst ruins and graffiti in Athens, while we hear them recount painful stories of their pre-flight suffering, harrowing journeys, and reflections on Greek life during the global financial crisis and rising fascism. Physically, they explore the question of how a body can find softness and resiliency when their surrounding environment is harsh. The refugees come from Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Senegal, Tanzania, and Turkey, and include a Kurdish political prisoner, a sex trafficking victim, and victims of the Taliban. They work with collaborators from Athens and the USA in an annual performance workshop called passTRESpass. This film is a follow-up to the 2011 short documentary passTRESpass, which details the process of recruiting immigrant participants and staging a public performance. bodies of resilience is a filmed performance outside the traditional theatrical setting, but contains intimate elements of real life revealed through audio interviews. The participants provide a soundtrack of folk songs sung in their native languages, and speak in Greek. (English version available).

Samuel Lefeuvre has worked with Michelle Anne De Mey in the projects "Utopie" and "Rainy Dogs". Then he began a long-term collaboration with the Ballets C. de la B. in iconic works of Alain Platel and Lisie Estaras. At that time he meets the Carrizo and Chartier, founders of Peeping Tom, who ask him to work with the team. He collaborates with their projects "Le Salon" and "Les Sous-sol". Also he is a member of the French Groupe Entorse collective which has developed its own projects "Haptein" and "Accidens (ce qui arrive)" which are touring the world . Alongside he is working on a duet with Peter Jasco member of Les Slovaks.

A tropism (from Greek τρόπος, tropos, "a turning") is a biological phenomenon, indicating growth or turning movement of a biological organism in response to an environmental stimulus. The body reacts to the switching of the colors and the intensity of light, altering the causes and components of motion. Sinusoidal functions, pulses and brainwave frequencies deconstruct and reconstruct the successiveness of motion in real time offering the viewer a visual analogous of the chronophotography of Étienne-Jules Marey. In the contect of the dialogue between dance and different art forms, for the first time ATHENS VIDEO DANCE PROJECT collaborates with the theater of Athens Fine Art School, attempting to bring together dancers, visual arts in a vice versa interaction. Promenade is one of the events of AVDP2014, that doesn’t take longer than 30minutes and it is a condition-installation that involves a state-plant between dancers and works of art that will be presented at the Nickos Kesanli Exhibition Soace. A Jam in the refectory of A.S.F.A becomes the meeting point of four different forms of art. Dancers, Painters, fine artists, musicians and video artists coexist for two hours. The aim is to create a landscape under the name nothing unnecessary.

On Thursday the 20^th of February , at 17:00-19:00, an effort is made to redefine the more into the less in an improvisation of movement, sound, video/photography and fine arts, as part of the Athens Video Dance Project.

The venture is dangerous, but as in every climb you only need what is necessary and good luck.Everyone who wishes to participate must have with a glass filled only with personal (un) necessities.

Scotoma Scotomainvites visitors to relive pre-recorded trajectories and dances through the spaces of Athens Video Dance Project. Guided by the playback mode on a handheld camera, Scotoma takes spectators one-by-one on a journey into an uncanny reality, produced by the unique distortion that results when digital and physiological modes of seeing collide.

"Spontaneousprecision" with Thomas Freundlich (Choreographer, Dancer, co-artistic director of LOIKKA)

"Spontaneous precision" is a practice, based on structured improvisation, that he has developed for use in his own work. The aim is to warm up and open the body to as full a range of movement qualities and directions as possible while retaining an experience of freshness, precision and effortlessness throughout. For the first half of each class, we will go through the structured practice described above, and for the second half we’ll concentrate on creating some choreography with the participants.

6th ATHENS VIDEO DANCE PROJECT (showreel)

Το AVDP official 2016 αποτελεί το διεθνές ετήσιο φεστιβάλ του AVDP_2016 και διεξάγεται στο θέατρο, στον κινηματογράφο και στον εκθεσιακό χώρο Ν. Κεσανλής της Ανωτάτης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών, 22, 23 και 24 Ιανουαρίου. Στο AVDP official 2016, θα παρουσιαστούν σύντομα έργα videodance κάθε είδους, ταινίες και ντοκιμαντέρ χορού, παραστάσεις και εγκαταστάσεις από καταξιωμένους καλλιτέχνες, όπως Daniel Lepkoff, Jevan Chowdhury, Angeliki Stellatou, Patricia Apergi και πολλούς άλλους από 40 διαφορετικές χώρες του κόσμου. Επίσης, στο πλαίσιο των διακρατικών συνεργασιών με άλλα διεθνή φεστιβάλ videodance μέσα από το πρόγραμμα AVDP on TouR, θα παρουσιαστούν exchange screenings από το LOIKKA (Finland), το Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Videodance Βουργουνδίας (Burgundy),  το POOL International Dance Film Festival (Berlin) και το TANZRAUSCHEN-Dance on Screen Festival (Wuppertal). Παράλληλα, το AVDP official 2016 πλαισιώνει για τρίτη συνεχή χρονιά τη δράση PROMENADE και παραστάσεις που αποσκοπούν στην ανάπτυξη ενός καλλιτεχνικού διαλόγου μεταξύ του χορού και άλλων μορφών τέχνης. Το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα AVDP.edu 2016, αποτελεί πλατφόρμα παρουσίασης σύντομων έργων από νέους καλλιτέχνες, σπουδαστές και απόφοιτους Ανώτερων Σχολών Χορού, ενώ περιλαμβάνει και Ιδιωτικές Προβολές & videodance activities για τους σπουδαστές Ανώτερων Σχολών Χορού, καθώς και τους μαθητές των Καλλιτεχνικών Σχολείων. Επιπλέον, θα πραγματοποιηθούν τα εξής εργαστήρια: CHOREOGRAPHY.lab, PROMENADE.lab και 1 min VIDEODANCE. Στο πλαίσιο του 6ου AVDP, θα πραγματοποιηθεί η παρουσίαση του videodance έργου MOVING CITIES | ATHENS, από τον καταξιωμένο Βρετανό Καλλιτεχνικό Διευθυντή του project MOVING CITIES, Jevan Chowdhury. Τα γυρίσματα πραγματοποιήθηκαν 20 - 26 Ιανουαρίου 2015 σε διάφορα σημεία της Αθήνας, με τη συμμετοχή μερικών από τους πιο ταλαντούχους performers της ελληνικής χορευτικής κοινότητας και ήταν ανοιχτά προς παρατήρηση για κάθε ενδιαφερόμενο. Το MOVING CITIES | ATHENS, είναι μία παραγωγή του AVDP και της εταιρείας παραγωγής STEFI.

Ο χρόνος είναι χρήμα... Αλλά τελικά τι αξίζει πιο πολύ; Ο χρόνος ή το χρήμα; Μία διαμάχη μεταξύ δύο μεγάλων εννοιών. Δύο εννοιών που έχουν δημιουργηθεί από τον ίδιο τον άνθρωπο και σήμερα δαμάζουν την ανθρωπότητα. Μία εξερεύνηση της αλληλένδετης σχέσης του χρόνου και του χρήματος και της επιρροής τους στην καθημερινότητά μας. Μέχρι να συνειδητοποιήσουμε τι πραγματικά αξίζει. Μέχρι να αποφασίσουμε να αντιδράσουμε και να επαναστατήσουμε.

Ένας μικρόκοσμος, όπου το «είναι» συνυπάρχει με το «φαίνεσθαι», όπου το «φαίνεσθαι»  ξεγελάει το «είναι». Το υπονοούμενο της εικόνας γίνεται η αρχή του BadTrip, μιας σύνθεσης εικόνων βασισμένων στην καλλιέργεια της ψευδαίσθησης. Μπορεί και να είναι μια «φούσκα». Η αλήθεια του BadTrip γεννιέται ή αμφισβητείται μέσα από τον καθένα μας και ως έργο, υπάρχει και εξελίσσεται μέσα στην αλήθεια μιας ψευδαίσθησης.

Η χορογραφία Chance Operations vol. 2 προέκυψε όταν στο μάθημα του αυτοσχεδιασμού ασχοληθήκαμε με την έννοια της αποσπασματικότητας στην κίνηση καθώς και με τον ρόλο του τυχαίου παράγοντα στην δημιουργία ενός χορού. Εργαλεία όπως το ζάρι, το παζλ, ο κλήρος, η στιγμιαία πρωτοβουλία και διαμόρφωση των συνθηκών, οδήγησαν στην δημιουργία ενός χορού, στον οποίο δεν έχει τόσο σημασία το κινητικό υλικό και οι σχέσεις των χορευτών στον χώρο και τον χρόνο, όσο η διαδικασία μέσα από την οποία αυτά προέκυψαν.

Η χορογραφία έχει να κάνει με το τραπέζι που ετοιμάζουν οι οικογένειες τις γιορτινές μέρες . Ο τρόπος διασκέδασης μέσω του φαγητού , του ποτού και της συζήτησης, χωρίς όμως να παραβλέπουν τους  " ευγενικούς τρόπους " ή και όχι.

Η χορεύτρια και χορογράφος Αγγελική Στελλάτου και ο εικαστικός video artist Παντελής Μάκκας μελετούν και ανασυνθέτουν επί σκηνής, ο καθένας από την δική του οπτική γωνία, την ιστορία ενός κοριτσιού που δεν κατάφερε ποτέ να μιλήσει. Η Genie ένα 13χρονο κορίτσι, μεγαλωμένο χωρίς ίχνος ανθρώπινης επικοινωνίας έζησε για δέκα χρόνια δεμένο σε μία καρέκλα για νήπια. Οι φυσικοί περιορισμοί κράτησαν το σώμα της καθηλωμένο στην παιδική ηλικία και η συναισθηματική στέρηση της αφαίρεσε κάθε ικανότητα λόγου, εκτός από τις λέξεις "σταμάτα" και "τέλος”. Η περίπτωση της Genie ανακίνησε στην επιστημονική κοινότητα ερωτήματα, που είχαν μείνει αναπάντητα σχετικά με την ανθρώπινη μάθηση και εξέλιξη. Οι επιστήμονες θέλησαν να ερευνήσουν τις περίπλοκες λειτουργίες της μάθησης σε έναν ώριμο εγκέφαλο που δεν εκτέθηκε σε ερεθίσματα σταδιακά από την έναρξη της ζωής του. Βασίστηκαν στην υπόθεση της εποχής, ότι για να αναπτύξει ένα παιδί τον λόγο πρέπει να αισθανθεί ότι συνδέεται με κάποιον άλλον άνθρωπο (τροφό). Όπως όλα τα αισθητήρια όργανα έτσι και ο λόγος αν δεν αναπτυχθεί σε συγκεκριμένη χρονική στιγμή χάνεται.

The dancer and choreographer Angeliki Stellatou and visual and video artist Pantelis Makkas study and reconstruct on stage, each from its own perspective, the story of a girl who never managed to speak. Genie a 13 year old girl, grown up without any trace of human communication, lived for ten years tied to a chair for toddlers. The physical limitations kept her body anchored in childhood and her emotional deprivation removed every capacity of speech unless the words "stop" and "end". The case of Genie raised in the scientific community questions that were left unanswered regarding human learning and development. The scientists wanted to investigate complex functions of learning in a mature brain which not exposed to stimuli gradually from the beginning of her life. They were based on the assumption of the time, that for a child to develop speech they should feel that they are associated with another man. Like all sensory organs if speech will not developed in a specific time will be lost.

CHOREOGRAPHY.lab, με τον Γιάννη Καρούνη
4ήμερο εργαστήριo για τη δημιουργία ομαδικού χορογραφικού έργου μικρής διάρκειας. Το θέμα του εργαστηρίου πραγματεύεται το σύνολο και πώς  η μονάδα ξεχωρίζει, έχοντας ως μοναδικό σκοπό  να υπηρετήσει και να αναλάβει την ευθύνη της ομάδας έως  ότου παραδώσει την σκυτάλη στον επόμενο. Πλοκή, σενάριο, reperage, decoupage, storyboard, storyboard breakdown, ordino, casting, κοστούμι, set, εξοπλισμός, τεχνικές πρόβες, γύρισμα, post-production,visual effects, συνεργείο, ομάδα, ρόλοι είναι τα θέματα που θα μας απασχολήσουν στο 2ήμερο εντατικό εργαστήριο videodance. Η Eταιρία Μη Κερδοσκοπικού Χαρακτήρα Team Progressive, ανακοινώνει την διεξαγωγή του Τρίτου Φεστιβάλ Χορού και Προβολών Video,  Athens Video Dance Project, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί από 03 Οκτωβρίου έως 07  Νοεμβρίου 2012 στο Θέατρο του Νέου Κόσμου.
Το φεστιβάλ Athens Video Dance Project, συνδυάζει την Τέχνη του Χορού με την 7η Τέχνη και πιο συγκεκριμένα την Τέχνη του Video.
Ο στόχος του Φεστιβάλ είναι η διάδοση της τέχνης του χορού στο αθηναϊκό κοινό, όχι μόνο με την κλασσική της μορφή - αυτή της παράστασης - αλλά και με την παρουσίαση σύγχρονων μορφών έκφρασης όπως είναι το videodance. Στόχος του επίσης είναι να καταστήσει γνωστό στο κοινό, το έργο νέων αλλά και παλαιότερων διάσημων δημιουργών του videodance. Ο μακροπρόθεσμος στόχος μας είναι η καθιέρωση του Athens Video Dance Project ως θεσμό στο πολιτιστικό κομμάτι της χώρας μας.
